To create a server database, launch 4D Server.
1. Launch 4D Server by double-clicking on the 4D Server icon.
On Windows, double-click the 4DSERVER.EXE icon.
On Macintosh, double-click the 4D Server icon.
The Open database dialog box appears, giving you the choice of opening an existing database or to creating a new one.

2. Click the New... button to create a new database.
The Create database dialog box appears, where you can enter the name of the new database.

3. Name the structure file of the database.
Type Employees, then click Save.
4D Server creates automatically, at the structure file level, the data file and the WebFolder folder (default Web root folder).
4D Server creates the database and displays the Process window:
