This section describes everything you need to perform an installation on each machine and system supported.
Windows Client Requirements
The minimum software requirements for using 4D ODBC on Windows are:
• Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5 or higher
• 4th Dimension 3.5 or higher, 4D Engine 3.5 or higher, 4D Runtime Classic 3.5.3 or higher, 4D Server and 4D Client 1.5 or higher
• An x86 PC compatible computer with at least 12 Mb RAM (16 Mb for Windows NT)
• A 32-bit ODBC driver specific to your data source. The driver is usually supplied by the company from which you get this data source or server, or supplied by a vendor specializing in this type of middleware.
Mac OS Client Requirements
The minimum software requirements for using 4D ODBC on Mac OS are:
• System 6.0.7
• 4th Dimension 3.0.2 or greater, or 4D Server and 4D Client version 1.0.2 or greater
• An ODBC driver specific to your data source. The driver is usually supplied by the company from which you get this data source or server, or supplied by a vendor specializing in this type of middleware.
• The ODBC Driver Manager from Visigenic (provided by Visigenic or Apple)
